THE GANGLIANS

i was wandering around on myspace this morning and in my travels i saw someone had the ganglians in their top 8 (remember how rad it used to be if you got in someone's top 8?) and i was like, shit i been meaning to listen to these dudes. they came through salt lake in the summer or fall i think and i missed the show because of some, probably dumb, reason. i remember back then wanting to check it out because i had heard good stuff about them. so, this morning i let their whole play list play and its pretty great. they get kinda dark but still manage to make some catchy semi pop music. and it isn't even contrived.

WOVEN BONES

i dig them. if you dig jesus'n'mary chain you'll dig them too. they been kinda blowing up lately and since i haven't posted here in a while, i figgered they would be a good place to pick back up. their records aren't too tough to get a hold of. try goner and florida's dying, and even ebay for some of the older ones.

crystal stilts

i've kinda been obsessed with this band the last few days. i don't have any of their records because i'm stupid and buy other things. like rent. yes, you're going to say they sound like joy division. thats because they do. its ok. don't hate them. a good ripoff is better than a bad one, and this is a very good ripoff.


frankie, their drummer used to drum for vivian girls, but was replaced by someone less cool. she was proba my fav viv girl too. sad.
